The Leapers 2025 study on Mental Health and Self-Employment is now open - and we need you take part.
Every year, we run a study into the wellbeing of the self-employed.
This is our sixth year of running the study, and perhaps our most in-depth yet.
The work goes to help us shape our content, resources and influence organisations and partners we work with - whether it’s sharing with fellow freelance communities, or when we’re speaking to policy makers and government.
It’s not only a useful piece of research, but we also get lots of lovely feedback each year that it’s a helpful way to reflect upon your year - what happened, what challenges did you face, how did you experience stress during 2025?
The study is entirely anonymous, so you can speak openly and honestly - and WE NEVER EVER SHARE your data - all of the responses are aggregated into a report we publish in early 2026, but your individual data is bundled in with everyone else.
It takes a little while to complete, so pop the kettle on, make a cuppa, sit back and share how you’re you’ve been doing during 2025.
We’d also REALLY appreciate not only you taking part, but also, please share the survey with your fellow freelancers. The most people who take part, the better. Point them to: leapers.co/research and we’ll do the rest! Or forward them this email!
We’re hugely grateful this year to have the support of With Jack.
With Jack arranges insurance for freelancers to help with mistakes they make in their work, bad clients or late payments.
“With Jack found so much value in previous Leapers studies on mental health and used a lot of the findings to educate and help our own customers. This is why we wanted to support the 2025 study so more freelancers can be aware of the struggles of self-employment and feel less alone, which ties into our ethos of helping you be a confident freelancer.” — Ashley Baxter, With Jack
This research project is a huge labour of love for me, and costs quite a significant amount in both time and costs, so I can’t quite put into words how much I appreciate their tangible commitment to supporting freelancers in this way. Thanks With Jack!
If you can’t wait until 2026 for insights into taking care of your mental health as a freelancer, we’re running a webinar for World Mental Health Day. It’s free to join, and we’ll be looking at the major challenges, and tangible tips for working well.
Ok, that’s all from me for now.
(until I keep pestering you to take part).
